I doubt that you know me yet. But I’m that voice you hear most, besides your mother’s. Its my  job to take care of you, make sure you are always safe. I along with your  mother will do our very best to guide you on the path to becoming a strong,intelligent and  purpose driven woman.

You are our first child, and make  no mistake about it I am afraid! Afraid of failing you! I’m scared…but don’t worry sweetie, Daddy will always be here. With that I ask you now, to forgive my mistakes.I promise to learn and grow alongside you on this journey.

Lauryn I sincerely want you  to know; I haven’t always made the best choices, I haven’t always been right in the end and I know that I will make some mistakes when it comes to you. But  I promise you!Everything I do, is done with your best interest at heart. With that said there some things that I want to say directly to you.

• Put God first in ALL things you do!
• Treat everyone with respect and kindness. Period. No exceptions. In short; Treat people the way, you want to be treated. Great things are not always grand. I hope to teach you the power of a kind word or simple smile or good gesture. Boldness is admirable, but so is gentleness.
•  Remember that you are beautiful. People told you this from the day you were born. It is my prayer that as you grow, you see that  true beauty is born through our actions , aspirations and in the kindness we offer to others. True beauty is a reflection our souls.— this is beauty
• I want you to able to take care of yourself when the time comes . I want you to feel like you can do anything, so long as you want it and work hard for it.  So challenge yourself, try new things, and give your best that that you “succeed” by any score or standard. You must not let a fear of failure or of judgement ever stop you from trying.
  
• People will  tell you to act a lady. That’s fine, in fact I hope you do— but I also give you permission to cry, get mad. You are allowed to have emotions—they make us human. You don’t have to hide them.  You are not obligated to any certain personality type simply because of your sex and the society’s perception of it.  I never want you to feel that because you are a woman, there will be things you can’t accomplish.I want you to be whoever you want to be. Don’t let anyone tell you to settle, behave or think in a certain way.

No matter what, I will always be here for you! I will be here to hold your hand when you need support,correct and redirect you, when you are wrong. Lend an ear when you want to talk. Pick you up when you fall and most of all guide you the best I can through this journey called life. The most important thing I want you to know is that you are loved.

You are the most beautiful part of my life. Just watching you makes my day and I realize how beautiful this life is. I love you so much.
